Peak District National Park Authority - Website
for the Local Authority to whom we submit the vast majority of our
applications. Oldfield Design work closely with the planning
officers at the Peak District National Park, speaking to them almost on
a daily basis, which gives us a solid understanding of the designs and
styles they look for when approving development in the National
Park, therefore helping us to acheive a high success rate on
submitted applications.
Planning Portal -
A fairly recently developed website provided by the government for use
by the general public, planning professionals and local authority
officials. The site provides a plethora of information relating
to planning and building regulations.
Bakewell Mannerians Rugby Club -
Our managing director, Joe Oldfield, has been an active member of
Bakewell Mannerians Rugby Club for more years than he cares to
remember. He recently made the difficult decision to hang up his
rugby boots after a long and distinguished playing career, to take up a
managerial role. Ethan Bagshawe, a young and talented current
player at the club is also now an employee at Oldfield Design Ltd.

Bakewell Pudding Race
- Joe Oldfield is also jointly responsible for the organisation of the
annual 'Great Bakewell Pudding Race'. This takes place as part of
Bakewell's carnival week at the end of June / start of July each year
and consists of a 10.4km Fell Race and a 4.2km 'Fun Run'.
Charity Challenges
- Two of our employees, Joe Oldfield and Andrew Schofield, are
currently raising money for charities. Joe is running the Great
North Run and raising money for Alzeihmer's UK while Andrew is making
his first attempt at any kind of running event having entered the Great
Yorkshire 10km Run and fundraising for The Children's Hospital Charity,

Holme Bank Chert Mine - Oldfield
Design Ltd's office sits atop the main entrance to Bakewell's Holme
Bank Chert Mine. Chert, an extremely hard form of Limestone, was
mined here many years ago and was exported mainly to Josiah Wedgewood's
factories in Staffordshire. We've created this webpage to allow
access to some information on the history of the site Oldfield Design
Ltd now occupies.
Fantasy Football
- Since the summer of 2005, the employees of Oldfield Design Ltd have
pitted their wits against each other each year in an 'in house'
Fantasy Football Competition based around the English Premier League
Season. Since then, the competition has grown year on year and is
now open to everyone and anyone who would like to have a go. There are now
also other 'fantasy' and 'sweepstake' competitions on offer relating to
a range of sports from horse-racing to cricket. More information
